I’ve worked with the team behind the Hot Rod Gathering since 2021. What started as small maintenance and updates on an existing WordPress site grew into a 2023 rebrand and refresh, and in 2025 I rebuilt the site from the ground up.
The two years after the 2023 refresh were the event’s biggest yet — more registrations, stronger merchandise sales, and a growing spectator audience. By 2025 the site needed to carry more weight than the original structure could handle.
The rebuild
The 2025 rebuild replaced the old site with a custom WordPress build — new design, new theme, and a completely rebuilt registration flow. Each registration moves through a structured custom form (vehicle info, category, crew, sponsors), collects payment via Stripe through Formidable Forms, and drops the data into an admin dashboard the team can manage themselves.
The shop runs alongside the registration flow, and content is fully editable by the team without my involvement.

Where it is now
This year the site has processed 500+ car registrations and generated $50,000+ in online revenue — and the event is still ahead. Spectator attendance (free, not tracked on the site) continues to grow year over year.
